What is hastelloy?
Hastelloy is a family of nickel-molybdenum and nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys engineered for the most aggressive chemical environments — hydrochloric, sulphuric, phosphoric and formic acids, wet chlorine, and hot chloride solutions. The stocked grades are Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276), C22 (N06022), B2 (N10665), B3 (N10675) and the high-temperature grade X (N06002).

Every dispatch leaves our Mumbai warehouse with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate (3.2 with TUV, SGS, BV, Lloyd's or IRS witness on request), PMI verification and full heat-number traceability.

What is the difference between Hastelloy C276 and C22?

Both are Ni-Cr-Mo alloys. C276 has around 16% Mo and 16% Cr with tungsten, and excels in reducing acids and mixed media. C22 raises chromium to about 22% and adds more tungsten, giving better resistance to oxidising media, wet chlorine and mixed acid streams, plus superior resistance to weld heat-affected-zone attack.
What is UNS N10276?

UNS N10276 is Hastelloy C276 — nominally 57% Ni, 15–17% Mo, 14.5–16.5% Cr, 3–4.5% W and up to 7% Fe, with very low carbon and silicon. It is supplied to ASTM B574 (bar), B575 (plate, sheet, strip), B619 (welded pipe) and B622 (seamless pipe and tube).
Which Hastelloy grade is best for hydrochloric acid?

Hastelloy B2 and B3 are the strongest performers in pure, oxidiser-free hydrochloric acid across all concentrations. Where the acid also carries oxidising contaminants such as ferric or cupric ions, C276 or C22 is the safer choice because the B grades are attacked by oxidisers.
Do you supply Hastelloy in small quantities?

Yes. There is no fixed minimum for stocked bar, sheet, plate and pipe — orders start at a single cut piece. Non-stock sizes are procured against a mill run with a typical lead time of 6–10 weeks.
Every dispatch is traceable, tested and certified.
Material is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 on request) mill test certificates, PMI and spectro verification, and is open to third-party inspection by TUV, SGS, BV, Lloyd’s and IRS from our Mumbai warehouse.
